Are YOU ready for another weekend of Jazz Fest?! We sure are, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. In case you were wondering, the #TaxiOasis is back at the main cab stand on Gentilly Boulevard. You know the drill by now, come down some of that sweet nectar known as vitaminwater and get a ride back to your temporary digs. It’s a long weekend of good music and great times ahead, so pace yourself ;-)
Phew! What – a – weekend! And to think there’s one more to go! Hope you have your party shoes on because there’s an even bigger lineup this weekend. Jimmy Buffett, Florence + the Machine, Zac Brown Band, Eagles, My Morning Jacket, Ne-Yo, Foo Fighters, Bonnie Raitt, The Neville Brothers…are you serious??? You guys aren’t going to need to listen to music for a year after this! Well, that’s not true, but that’s pretty sweet for one weekend.
So…if you were paying attention (which we’re sure you were *eye roll*), you probably noticed that our plans for our own Taxi Magic cab stand didn’t come to fruition (fruition is not very abundant in the desert – we should have known). vitaminwater? Check. Cab supply? Check. Great surrounding area? Check. But we didn’t account for one thing that has haunted taxi drivers since the early days of the stoplight: gridlock. Ugh, traffic…the bane of our existence! But you know what? It was a blessing in disguise, folks.
The #TaxiOasis presented by Taxi Magic made it’s way over to the main cab stand on Gentilly Blvd. and it flourished! One could grab an ice-cold vitaminwater before waiting to snag a cab back to the French Quarter - it was loved by the masses! While they were enjoying those delicious beverages, Jazz Fest goers learned how to be awesome – which meant learning about Taxi Magic if they didn’t already know of its powers.
And that’s pretty much the jist of it. We had a great first weekend and the second weekend is going to be even better. Taxi Magic team members will also be roaming the fair grounds, so come say hi if you see us and grab a free limited edition koozie!

The Taxi Oasis will be moving around the Fairgrounds neighborhood throughout the seven days of Jazz Fest (April 27-29th & May 3-6th).
Much like a food truck, we’ll post the secret location each day on our Twitter account, @taximagic and we’ll share updates using the #taxioasis hashtag and here on this Tumblr.
